Die Sekundarstufe I umfasst drei Jahre und wird vom Bezirk Schwyz als Mittelpunktschule (MPS) geführt.
An der Mittelpunktschule Muotathal werden Schülerinnen und Schüler aus den Gemeinden Muotathal, Illgau und Morschach-Stoos unterrichtet.
